Worldwide deliveries are stalling because cargo ships have to wait in ports to be unloaded. Massagesessel Welt in Stuttgart is also affected by the situation, which has now spread across the globe. But Michael Roedeske, owner of Massagesessel Welt, has taken precautions and has already filled his warehouses at the beginning of the year. He has also already thought about the end of the year.

In international goods traffic, the first delay occurred at the start of the lockdown in 2020, when containers were unable to leave Asian ports due to the pandemic. Added to this was the accident in the Suez Canal. Already for the Christmas business in 2021, Roedeske had to factor in price increases for its massage chairs due to scarce goods. The situation in Shanghai is still uncertain today due to Covid-19, the congestion of ocean-going vessels still not resolved. "All the actionism is of little use at the moment. We have to have a lot of patience and endure the situation," says Michael Roedeske. When it comes to his customers, he is not at a loss for new ideas and has already filled the warehouses in Remshalden and an extension in Fellbach for 75% of his range at the beginning of the year. Nevertheless, there may be delays for some of his products: About ten loaded ocean-going vessels are currently still gathering in the Elbe Canal off Hamburg, and 100 more are waiting to enter the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam. For the North Sea, this is a density that is clearly visible from the air, pushing ports and personnel to the limits to unload the containers. Massage chairs ordered long ago are also among the goods at sea.

Relaxation necessary all along the line

"Especially the dockworkers, who have to work hundreds of extra shifts at the moment, could do with a massage chair right now," Roedeske muses. For him, his products are more than wellness: they deliver health for body and mind. "This is something that is immensely important today. We've been living in a state of emergency for two years, it feels like. Corona has been replaced by the Ukraine crisis, and the tension is not easing." Massage chairs provide conscious downtime and relaxation in the truest sense of the word - both components that Roedeske cannot imagine everyday life without.

Christmas always comes so suddenly

The entrepreneur and owner of Massage Chair World observes the market closely and has learned from the experience of previous years. "We look perspectively already on the Christmas business. In any case, we want to be ready to deliver from November, so that we can provide our customers with the well-deserved time off in time."

Michael Roedeske and his team are available to provide information on delivery times and deadlines. "Surely an alternative can be found for those who are in a hurry," he offers his customers.
