Clinical study: Back pain is reduced and range of motion increases after massage therapy.
Research:
In this study, massage therapy was compared with relaxation in patients with chronic lower back pain. At the end of the study period, the massage group reported significantly less pain, depression and anxiety as well as improved sleep compared to the relaxation group. In addition, there was greater mobility of the trunk, better pain flexion and increased serotonin and dopamine levels.
Results:
Massage therapy is proving to be an effective method of reducing pain, stress hormones and other symptoms associated with chronic lower back pain.
